Farm visits
While not always possible, farm visits are often advantageous and may be for one horse or for the entire barn. They allow for an in person assessment of your current feeding and management strategies. Farm visits allow you to ask all your questions in a personal one-on-one setting with your horse right there. During a farm visit horses will be condition scored and their weight will be estimated. Feeds and supplements being fed will be weighed and evaluated for their suitability and hay may be cored for analysis.
Summit Equine Nutrition has a completely mobile office which allows diets to be evaluated in the barn and for you to recieve a printed evaluation of your horses diet at the time of the visit. This service requires that diet information be provided prior to the visit. If the diet requires re-formulation this will be performed after the visit and may incur an additional fee.
Fees for farm visits are billed in 15 minute increments with a 1 hour minimum and mileage is charged at the standard IRS rate for the time of the visit. Please inquire about special rates for multiple horses. For visits outside a 100 mile radius of Sacramento additional fees may apply.
